You've Got a Friend - James Taylor

This song, written by Carole King, was included in her album Tapestry of 1971, but was made famous by James Taylor's cover version the same year.

In July 2007, Taylor teamed up with television producer Don Mischer to produce "One Man Band". The album was recorded at the magnificently restored Colonial Theater in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and included this song. One Man Band Colonial Theater Berkshires Pittsfield Massachusetts. Despite the longevity of a singing and songwriting career spanning decades; despite selling over 10 million records; the great James Taylor to date has managed just one #1 song: "You've Got A Friend."

It is ironic that such a prolific and successful songwriter as Taylor would make #1 with someone else's song, but that's just how it turned out.
