  • I too have searched for this Camp recording for years. Back in 1968, while dating a 20 year old lady (Kathy) this record came out, I remember having the 45RPM recording, it seems the label was a dark green? I gave this song to her as representative of my love for her. I was 21 at the time and in February 1969 was drafted into the Army and ordered to that gastly Vietnam. She wanted to marry prior but I thought not. In the end, she could not wait and my love story died in the jungles of Nam.

  • I still remember giving the 45 RPM single to the love of my life (Kathy) during the summer of 1968. The label was green and the lyrics said it better than I ever could. That she's gone, and has been, for many many years matters not ~ I am still, to this day, so thankful for what we had and how much in love I felt.

  • Ham was also in an episode of legendary MTM show.. Mary Richards was interviewing him as an author; when show ended they started talking, she liked him. He asked her to dinner, she accepted. All this while sitting down. When Ham got up he was many inches shorter than Mary. Funny and thought provoking.

  • definitely an underrated song and singer; this is one of my favorite songs ever .. thanks!
