Every year around Christmas the city of Trenton, New Jersey reenacts several key battles from the American Revolutionary War. The reenactments are played out on the very same streets where the actual battles took place.
This clip is a shortened version from my original video of the First Battle of Trenton (12/26/76).
Washington's Continental Army is marching into the city out of the North (right to left on the street in front of me). The British redcoats and Hessian mercenaries (brass helmets) are being pushed back towards Front Street and eventually into Mill Hill Park.
Even for those who are clueless about the War and know nothing about this actual battle, its still fun watching the reenactment. Soldiers march in formation, form skirmish lines and fire muskets at each other.
This clip ends with a cannon being wheeled in front of me. I just happened to be in the perfect spot and couldn't have been luckier. Then the cannon was fired. LOUD stuff!!!!!
Taken in December of 2008.
GO HESSEN !!!
