I believe this is the best gangster movie ever. It is a movie that did not need to be gory or horiffic but makes its point brilliantly. It is almost like watching a gangster movie in reverse. The hunters are being hunted. Superb movie - why don't we see more like this?

Gay Ritchie & Vinny (gar-stroke) Jones could learn a thing or two watching a quality movie like this. They're a pair of pussies compared to Bob Hoskins & co...!

Isnt it great when you got charlie from casualty getting his throat cut and James Bond as an IRA man? Still miles better than Guy (I used to be married to madonna) Ritchie and Vinnie ( jealous of Alex Read) Jones films!

I think both films are fantastic, but The Long Good Friday takes the cake.
