This Great Living Cincinnatian has spent her life infusing hope into seemingly hopeless situations.

She is a true pioneer of pediatrics. She started the department of hematology and oncology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center—at the time, a department of one—and laid the foundation for the department's staff of 80 to change the outcome.

While there, she made advances in leukemia treatment that turned the disease from a near death sentence to one that more than 90 percent now survive.

But her passion and compassion for children extend well beyond her day job.

Let's see the story of a woman who has dedicated her life to saving the lives of children.
