@deathmetalterrorist you may find it boring, but at least they don't bury a their skill in an overkill of effect-boxes, and abuse the neck pickup to hide their picking flaws (cheating) like so many other players do. If you can't play it clean, you don't have the skill and you will not trick seasoned guitarists!

Let me suggest this - coming from a guy doing original music for 35 years: New ideas needs friends to survive.
You and I are polar stylists, but both artists and both want the same thing - to contribute something worthwhile. We are up against an insurmountable number of obstacles. Let's not let the enemy win by turning on each other. you and I are not the enemy here.

Definitely. People just don't have patience in music anymore. They want instant resolution. I like things that keep me guessing or music that takes a while to get there. Jazz, death metal, and post-rock experimental are the three genres that really accomplish that in my opinion, obviously classical as well but it's not as listenable on a day to day basis.
