wow, I didn't realize they were that bad...
Thanks

awesome.. I hope to build a home with your designs one day. A pool and all.

Agreed, I have seen Green Power Science demonstrate a Fresnel lense that exploded cinder blocks!! 1200 Degrees!! From an old big screen TV lense!! I know it can be done....The home builders, and the auto builders are all in the same boat...still building inefficient product...

NEVER BURN ANYTHING should be applied to Buildings, Transportation, AND Manufacturing. At Zero Energy Design, we focus on Buildings, but the same principles to apply to all forms of bad BURNING. The most common form of solar collector should be equator-facing glass (solariums, etc.). It takes a lot of BTUs of heat to make glass. It SHOULD come from Clean, Green, Free-Fuel Energy Sources, such as Solar, Wind, Hydroelectric (Rain, Tides, Currents), and Geothermal Energy. NEVER BURN ANYTHING.

I don't suppose the solar panels are Manufactured w/a burning type of process
I already use solar panels and a wind turbine for my power but if we stop burning old wood, what are we to do with all of the old dead wood that will be laying around. Even nature burns off her grass lands and older forests and man has nothing to do with that except we try to stop nature by trying to put out the fires. Nature is also a large polluter of Earth by things such as volcanic eruptions, forest fires etc.

Standing dead wood can be harvested for a few basic things, but LIVING TREES SHOULD NOT BE KILLED, and WOOD SHOULD NEVER BE BURNED BY HUMANS. We must manage our declining forests to minimize wild fires. The huge Siberian volcanic eruption 251 million years ago caused global warming that cascaded into the extinction of 90% of all plants and animals. If man continues emitting 2.1% more CO2 each year, it will soon be worldiwde suicide.

Great to hear from you Larry...I think that your videos are amazing, extremely informative, and overall positive...I always use your passive solar house as an example to people who think it can't be done....Enertia building systems also uses your idealogy...

Thank you, but Enertia violates MOST of our ideals: Enertia very far from ZERO EMISSIONS, wood-burning fireplaces, skylights (summer solar furnace), wood timber (kills trees), wasted space in their poorly-designed double north wall, south-side porches that shade the downstairs sunroom glass (where solar gain is needed the most), and many other serious thermal errors that are still based on Lee Porter Butler's obsolete 1980's flaws that DOE documented to be bad decades ago.

What about pyrolitic gassification? Mantria Industries looks tohavea good solution to a large waste stream...
Hemp is supposed to be a phenominal natural solution to a great deal of problems, not least of which is saving lots of trees...

Good question. Pyrolytic Gasification (even using terra preta) produces Syngas, which has emissions that are as bad as burning methane & natural gas: VOCs, Particulates, NOx (300 times worse than CO2 as a greenhouse gas), and HNO3 (corrosive nitric acid and acid rain). Burning hemp has the same lung-cancer-causing and brain-damaging emissions as smoking marijuana. Burning biomass and biofuels releases many deadly toxins and aldehydes (See our video: Burning Ethanol: DEADLY Aldehydes)
