Robot -animatronic crocodile mechanism from Peter Pan.

A hydraulic crocodile head without skin as built for the movie Peter Pan at John Cox's creature workshop. The Mechanism is controlled live using a voodoo slave system, where the performer moves a miniature version of the creature and the full sized version matches its movements.
The system incorporates Greg's concept of "Delayed Precision", where the creature does not race to instructed position with millisecond accuracy, but instead takes its time in the manner of a real organism made of meat and rubbery gristle and tendons. This results in smooth organic looking movement rather than mechanical looking rigidity and robotic awkwardness.

The Mechanism was engineered by Trevor Tighe for John Cox's Creature Workshop.
Trevor continued the concepts seen here and is the Chief Engineer for the Walking with Dinosaurs Full size walking dinosaurs stage show.
