Hey Emil, how long did it take you to learn Mandarin? I've heard the tones are really hard for English speakers to master.

@ava0000 I have been at it since 2003... And would like to think I am muuuuuuuch better now than in this old video. But I still suck on the tones. My belief is, however, that you can get around sucking at tones if you speak in full sentences and do it reasonably quickly - the tonality disappears at higher paces and suddenly people understand. But that takes practice.

You are always going to struggle to teach young bored middle class boys because you too are young and good looking, so you're seen as a threat. Don't complain...enjoy it. Try. Please try.

Oh, I enjoyed my China trip tremendously, and I am still heading back for more. I just don't want to teach spoiled kids.
China is great! But when something blows I will point that out as well.
