About the small applause, people from America forget that other countries dont believe its tastful to go fully insane after a number. A small applause typically in theater means a standing O to us.

@Noel373 Well, I agree with you... I haven't been in America yet ,but I'll be in August so maybe I'll notice a difference! :]..

I can already see how people will freak out when I'm in WICKED next Friday! A friend and I wanna scream after every song haha, we'll really confuse the rest of the audience :)

@Julia96ilu nah, it's actually kind of sad but most Germans I know (and of course not everyone) are hesitant with applause. Must be something cultural, but when I was in America, I was surprised at how loud people clap and so I noticed a difference. Maybe some of them did not enjoy it as much. :)
