Directors notes:

For this short film in particular, I wanted to experiment with use of sound. For one not having a score at all I felt made the sequences a little more tense by using the diegetic sound from the trains. Also I felt it would be more fun and challenging to be able to portray the story through actions and good camera editing work rather than having things said by the characters. I decided not to go for a grade, because I wanted the project to feel more real, for others watching the short to be able to associate themselves with it rather than feel like they're just watching something. Either way this is a project that I've always wanted to make and glad that I've finally had the chance to do it with such an amazing cast!

  • I really liked it. Bet you were sweating while you shot it. Nervous stuff filming in public. How did you manage to set up the 5 actors on the train and the empty seats? Great job!!

  • @fishtanktv haha yeah it was quite nerve racking as we didn't have a permit to shoot on the tube. For the tube stuff we actually shot most of the sequence tight and used an empty carriage pretty well. I also got some pick up shots during rush hour too. =] thanks for watching and appreciate the comment!

  • Well described lol. Very typical situation chasing the only seat on the tube. What station is shown in the first tube scene?

  • @YOZcreative hey man thanks alot, it was leytonstone :)

  • Not bad dude! Reminds me so much of Toronto that it is unreal haha. The audio at the end was a little hard to hear, but its nothing overtly troublesome. I also would've liked to see a bit more colour correction, but that's just being picky.

    Keep up the good work!

  • @RiverRogueFilms Hey man! thanks for checking it out. Yeah i guess it could have been recorded a little better I actually decreased the levels a little in post.. because i felt it popped out a little too much.. I may be wrong though! also I wanted to leave out colour correction to make it feel more real again colours could be tweaked. the only graded shot is the dream sequence everything else is raw. was abit of a race going from pre-pro to end of post in less than a week :P

  • Nice work... Just the right length, doesnt outstay its welcome. If you like take a look at our short 'Spot', we improvised, shot and edited it in 12 hours... Its quite rough but fun. (click on our name to view our channel and its on there). All the best.
