*Gah... So much word play in this song and a little bit of Taiwanese thrown in as well... I should explain a bit:
Kau Yau originally means crying out in hunger, which in slang is often negated to mean shut up and the beginning word, Kau, sounds similar to rely in Mandarin hence the chorus of "don't cry out...must rely on your hearts gunpowder" it's a bit of a stretch but, hey, I tried.

**In Mayday's "Going Crazy" (抓狂) they mention that "It's a heart packed full of gunpowder, it's blood vessels packed full of magma" (是火藥裝滿心臟 是血管裝滿岩漿) While I can't imagine the heart is a good place to store one's gunpowder, perhaps this explains why they again reference this firey inner stregnth :D

***That reminds me, I'm not sure how one kidnaps one's own smile except it reminded me of the MV for "You're Not Truly Happy" ...check it out if you haven't seen it.

Notes
1. "take hold of your heartbeat" should be more literally take back or steal back your heartbeat, but I thought it followed more with the idea of determining one's own fate this way.
2. "choose what's right" should probably be make decisions for you
3. "jump up high" is jump higher, but I liked the rhyme with "cry" and "rely" which is similar to the Chinese... sort of...
4. same reason "Don't cry out" might be "shut up" but there's some word play here, I believe

I'm going to briefly state that my translation is not perfect I'm not a native speaker of Mandarin (and I can't speak Taiwanese at all T_T) so, if you have any suggestions for my translations I'd be happy to hear them.

@YiXiang101 i dont know, but i think d.n.a. is dioxyribonucleic acid, found in the nucleus of the cell, also, the "bluprint" for building the cell.

I met them. their bassist is pretty cool. They came to our school for some TV event thing that involved football or whatever.
