I recommend that parents going through a divorce read Mark Banschick's The Intelligen­t Divorce. It's a great resource on how to talk with your kids about divorce and protect them from the negative outcomes that can sometimes arise from a bad divorce.

My personal belief is that if you don't want to be with that person then don't if you got kids then try to explain it. My mom is currently with a guy she doesn't want to be and me as a 14 yr old I wish she would just leave him already. The fact is if you stick around with a person you don't want to be with your hurting your kids that way to.

If this study is true then it's the parents fault for allowing their personal problems to affect their children. I don't think people should stay in a bad marriage for the sake of their children but they should really be mature enough to consider the effects their actions will have on their children.

I was thinking the exact same thing as Joy on 3:32. I would personally be devastated if one of my parents told me they stayed together for me. What about their own lives? I would actually get incredibly mad at them.
