Just a quick video of the "Ford GT Start Button Kit for Mustang" part #M-11572-GT from Ford Racing installed in my '05 F150. I can either start it with the key or I can turn it to the run position and press the button. Wasn't really hard to install at all after I looked at the wiring diagrams for both the Mustang and F150 to figure which wires I needed to tap into.

  • so you connected the button to the yellow wire aka starter wire and if u press the button with the keys off it prob just cranks but doesnt start

  • @Arlind86

It's connected to 2 different wires. A red/light blue wire and a Dark Blue/Light Green wire. On my truck the r/lb wire is labeled Run and the db/lg wire is Start. If you press the button with the key off nothing happens. You have to have the key in the run position before it even cranks.

  • hey did you in stal it??

  • @tapia0802

    Yes I did.

  • looks like you put the button where the 4 wheel drive selector would go?

  • @devbloggs Yes but since my truck wasn't four wheel drive it just had a coin holder in that spot.

  • @MrForeverReal Yes I have it installed were the change holder used to be. Just used a small saw and dremel to remove the little hump that holds the change, glued a piece of plexi to the rear piece with the clips, drilled/cut a big enough hole through it for the switch, and painted.

  • Di you just have it installed were the change holder used to be at?

  • There's not really much of a purpose besides the fun factor but there are several factory vehicles that work just like that with the button. Honda S2000 comes to mind.

  • thats neat and all, but is there much of a purpose if you have to put the key in to begin with?
