Select the text, go to your inspector, and select properties.
There is one for lighting, and just turn the shading off. It won't match the light color, but you can make it any color you want, so it shouldn't be to hard to make something that fits

When my yellow light is on, the text is just black... it wont change color whatsoever unless i turn it off but it looks lame without the light... what can i do?
