A. Please Read this message.
B. Please comment. I'd love to get feedback. :-D

"Only I never saw another butterfly... Such a yellow is carried lightly way up high... It went away I'm sure because It looked to kiss the world goodbye... Only I never saw another butterfly. That butterfly was the last one. Butterflies don't live here... ... In the ghetto."
- by Pavel Friedman

My Dad took this video because I am singing in it.

  • Congratulations to you and your director on a fine performance of a great piece of music. I have done this with a 5th/6th grade choir and another version of the same poetry with a select girls chorus. It is stirring music and lyrics that will stay with you for the rest of your life, I hope. A beautiful memento of an awful time in human history. I will save the performance to show to my current students. Great job.

  • i remember sining this at the Performing Atrs center. This is one of my favorite gruop piece that we sang.

  • I sang this song when a boy, it has always moved me deeply.

  • Thank you for posting! I haven't heard this song in years. We performed it in the North Carolina Boys Choir some years ago and it has stuck with me. Beautifully performed. I'm grateful for the opportunity to revisit!

  • This whole set is one of my favorite pieces of music of all time. While this is not perfect, it's definitely not bad!

  • I'm signing this in April with my chorus. It gives me chills, especially "Terezin". We have a small choir singing that, and I'm honored to be a part of that Chamber Choir.

  • You were a member of Columbus Boychoir? I watched my brother perform this with the choir in 1972 or 1973 at McCarter Theatre.

  • gave me chills.

i sang this with my choir aswell but in hebrew, and since then i've been looking for this piece! amazing

  • I performed this myself with a choir nearly 20 years ago, and have never been a part of any artistic experience that meant as much. Thank you for sharing it.
