@65TriumphMK2 How long did it take to sail from mainland Norway to Svalbard? I was on Svalbard in 2006 but I flew up there though.

@GeorgeV6v24 Well in the other active mining town of Barentsburg, we were let inside the gymnastics hall with an indoor swimming pool.. it didnt look very attractive though.

Well, I was there as well. The sign on the mountain is saying in English World-Peace und next to it it's written Tula. That's a coal mining city not far from Moskva. By the way, I was so impressed of the city. You still could smell the life there and feel the history! In the buildings most of the things are stolen but you still could find some interesting stuff! It's very interesting in there!

@mightyflux (waves of devistation wasd the episode) i liked how their was no more water in the pool community place, i think the people left because of no more minerals left on mountain for Russian minig company. Also, that other comment you wrote about the writing on the wall, i think it says MURY MU_ _ TVAA.... NO IDEA, I think it may be Russian, idk check google translate....

At 3:13 there seems to be some type of text on the mountain, what does it say?

Awesome place. Something I noticed as well is how different the seagulls sound compared to where I live. Same bird but completely different sound.

This bring memories. Three years ago me and a friend sailed from mainland Norway to Svalbard. We arrived at Pyramiden just after midnight, late june, and walked around in the abandon city for five hours. Nobody else were there.
It was an amazing feeling to walk around and inside these abandon buildings. We could see the powerplant with the machines still there, the warehouses still full of things, School with russian books and and so on. But of course, leave everything as it was.
