I've always preferred CTR over Mario Kart for the simple reason that there was more single player content in CTR than in any Mario Kart game. Adventure mode in CTR was what made me prefer it, as I never really had anyone else to play with. There was nobody living in the area that I could have over to play games with: they were either too young, or too old, for me to be friends with, without causing suspicion. I never really was crazy about multiplayer modes in games as a result. :/
