This is my first attempt at doing yarn braids/genie locs as well as my first time braiding my own hair.

  • LOVE THESE! Is your hair relaxed? I've been thinking about trying to self install some of these and I don't know if my hair being relaxed would make a difference.

  • @browndiva7 Thanks girl!! I'm actually growing out my relaxer. I decided to do yarn braids as a transitioning hairstyle. I had about 3 months worth of new growth before I did the braids. For you though, If you have just done a relaxer, wait eight weeks from that date and then do the braids. I probably would only keep then in about a month, maybe two. Make sure you do a really good deep conditioning treatment so that your hair is at its strongest.
