Nice! I have built one that is working pretty much on the same principle also at 100psi. The main diference is that the piston is on a second tank and drive the main valve direcly all the way through the principal tank. The trigger is also through the tank and open a litle hole in the flange bitween the 2 tanks. Whitch activate the piston and pull back the main valve. Your cannon il great!

How much pressure do you put inside the cannon tank?

Thanks.
The clear fitting is a modified y-strainer. It wasn't cheap (about $50), but it was certainly cheaper than using standard clear PVC fittings to build a similar valve.

One more question, you are using a 1.5 inch barrel, but I have a potato gun with a 1.5 inch barrel and golf balls are much to big to fit?

There is some area exposed to pressure. If you go to the link in the description you can see that the piston is slightly larger than the area it seals against. This creates the force to move it initially, and once it starts to open there is much more area to make it open very fast.
The barrel is 1.5" SDR21 which has a thinner wall then normal 1.5". It is typically used on large sprinkler systems. So if you are looking for it try irrigation stores. It is also known as class 200 pipe.
