Streamers of foam erupt from a 2 liter pop and hit the rafters when potassium iodide is mixed with concentrated hydrogen peroxide. Water, oxygen, and a substantial amount of heat are released almost instantly and trapped in liquid detergent to create a hot, steamy pile of ... foam. Very entertaining, easy to do, excellent introduction to exothermic reactions.
