I'm still bummed that they forgot this detail. They're usually so great with that stuff.

There's a lot of confusion over whether Jim or Pam came first. In the season four episode "Launch Party," Jim says he knew he liked her since the first time she spoke to him, which was before he was introduced to Dwight.
In another season two episode, Jim tells Pam that he had had a crush on her when she first started. Unfortunately, it seems like the writers forgot about this detail.
