Created for Film 25A: History of Silent Film
Fall 2010 at UC Berkeley
Taking found-footage from numerous silent film sources ranging from the late 1800s to the early 1930s, we've created a--hopefully--funny spoof of a modern day trailer (see if you can guess).
UC Berkeley is not known for its just recently established Film department which was, until just recently, attached to the Rhetoric department. This film course is an in-depth look into the fascinating history of silent film. Our assignment is simply to take what we've learned from film theorists of the early 20th century and employ those techniques into creating this short film here.
Since UC Berkeley focuses on film studies, as opposed to film production, this served only as an extra credit piece and made mostly for fun. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks!
