Fan (person):
A fan, sometimes also called aficionado or supporter, is a person with a liking and enthusiasm for something, such as a band or a sports team. Fans of a particular thing or person constitute its fanbase or fandom. They may show their enthusiasm by being a member of a fan club, holding fan conventions, creating fanzines, writing fan mail, or by promoting the object of their interest and attention.
Fanaticism:
is a belief or behavior involving uncritical zeal, particularly for an extreme religious or political cause or in some cases sports, or with an obsessive enthusiasm for a pastime or hobby. Philosopher George Santayana defines fanaticism as "redoubling your effort when you have forgotten your aim"; according to Winston Churchill, "A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject". By either description the fanatic displays very strict standards and little tolerance for contrary ideas or opinions.
SNSD:
Girls' Generation (Korean: 소녀시대, Hanja/Kanji: 少女時代; Sonyeo Sidae) is a nine-member South Korean girl group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2007. The nine members are: Taeyeon (Leader), Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun. They are often referred to as SoShi (소시, Hanja: 少時), or SNSD; the first is an abbreviation and the second, mainly used outside Korea, is an acronym of the group's Korean name So Nyuh Shi Dae.
Media of Singapore:
In 2010, Reporters Without Borders ranked Singapore 136 out of 175 in the Press Freedom Index, making it the worst country among other developed economies based on the Human Development Index.
Most of the local media are directly or indirectly controlled by the government through shareholdings of these media entities by the state's investment arm Temasek Holdings, and are often perceived as pro-government. William Gibson's Disneyland with the Death Penalty described Singapore's newspapers as "essentially organs of the state", while political scientist and opposition politician James Gomez has studied the role of self-censorship in restricting expression in Singapore.
Minister Mentor:
(simplified Chinese: 内阁资政; traditional Chinese: 內閣資政,Malay: Menteri Mentor) is a Singapore cabinet position created in 2004 as part of a leadership transition.
The newly appointed Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong (son of Lee Kuan Yew and successor to Goh Chok Tong), announced Lee Kuan Yew's new title together with the naming of his Cabinet on August 12, 2004. Before being appointed as Minister Mentor, Lee Kuan Yew held the post of Senior Minister (1990--2004) in the Cabinet of then Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong.
On 14th May 2011, Lee and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong announced their retirement from the cabinet after a watershed General Elections 2011.
Lee Kuan Yew was the first and only Minister Mentor of Singapore.
