Trying out the Alexi 600

Some of my own riffs, some Randy Rhoads, Mark Morton, Willie Adler, Matt Heafy, and Corey Beaulieu.

At the end of the Gunshot solo, my camera ran out of space during the final section, so I had to do another take and paste it in. I couldn't get it as tight as the first take, but it'll have to do :(

Wow. You blew my mind man. But I got a question for ya. What's the best way to learn to alternate pick? I've been playin for about 6 months or so and I can play bits and pieces of quite a few different LOG songs, but not whole songs cause I can't alternate pick worth shit.

@lambofgodfan117 My technique has changed quite a bit since this video (it's 3 years old now), but I found the key was getting the upstroke as strong and accurate as the downstroke. Playing really slow to a metronome and just working on getting up and down strokes to sound the same helps a lot. Sometimes I grip the bottom side of the pickup with my pinky for stability and focus on getting all the power out of the wrist and not the forearm. Holding the pick more paralell to the string can help.

@lambofgodfan117 i personally started out by kind of holding my pick at an angle so that it slides over the string and that helped me to start out and then over time i just straightened the pick out, if that makes sense?? lol a good song to help with alternate picking is Beast and the Harlot by Avenged Sevenfold
