Cafe Du Monde by Jhameel performed on iPad 2

This is one of my original songs from my new album, rerecorded with an electronic twist on the iPad 2. All music editing was done on the Garageband app, and all instruments performed were on the iPad 2.




The Action Packed Tale of the iPad 2 Video:
On Friday March 11th, 2011 (iPad 2 launch day) my publicist Ryan Rubin and I set out on an epic journey to obtain an iPad 2 to execute this very music video idea. We first arrived at Target, Emeryville, CA, at approximately 1PM. There was no line. I asked one of the managers if they were selling the iPad 2 at 5PM. We soon learned that they would only receive 5, and those had already been given away through a ticket system. We had to find a solution fast. Although we had known the Apple Store would have a line of about a bajillion people, we had no choice. We set out to the closest Apple Store, about 15 minutes away. As I had suspected, there were a bajillion, perhaps more people waiting in line. We stood in our place, and allowed ourselves to be in denial of the clear inevitability of the iPad 2's being sold out before we could get to the front of the line. As we stood bored, I decided to call Walmart in Oakland, on the off chance that they would have no line. The call was made, confirming that there was no line, and as soon as I hung up, we ran to my car, and drove light speed to Walmart. It was 3PM. No line. We asked a few questions around the store, and found out they would have 12 iPad 2's behind the counter at 5PM sharp. We stood in front of the nonexistent line for 2 hours straight, got the tablet at 5PM sharp, and left. Saturday morning, I recorded the song on the iPad 2, and recorded the video with help from Ryan for all afternoon. I then edited the video from Saturday Night to Monday morning at 530PM, and posted on youtube at about 630PM
