Civilizing influence of Christianity? In regards to women's rights? That's a new one to me...

L of I advocated protecting the weak but the new culture brought plenty bad: women can no longer chose to be warriors; Creator was “Mother” now “Father”; kids & land can no longer be matrilineal but men now own wives, kids & all land; women trade any autonomy for subservience. Some scholars argue 1 reason it took ages for Christianity was Pict women had stronger traditional roles than it allowed. Missionaries brought good (literacy, Jesus, etc) but this documentary glosses over the cost.

@redcoatsrule LOL They also claim that the Franks, Normans, Vikings were black as well. Heck they even try to claim they are the original Seminole Indians, the original Japanese, Chinese, Aryans, Germans you name it LOL. I tried telling them Scotland was originally called Alba which comes from the Gaelic word Albion meaning white thus "Whiteland". It is stupid & I too wish they would stop stealing every other peoples' history.

@buffyjosmom yeah i've come across them on youtube claiming scotland means 'blackland' they also claim the anglo saxons were black too i can't believe some folk actually believe them it's stupid.

@buffyjosmom lol i think that funny notion was from the fact that research shows large genetic flux between wester europe and africa wiht western europeans being the made up mostly of africans from the last ice age or something like that but the problem is African doesnt mean black before teh modern era sub sahara africa was teh least populated region of the world and futher more ppls skintones change in new enviroments rather quickly within 1-3 generations. it not a set thing
