It saddens me to think that jokes like this can't be done anymore because of PC :(

"Let me repeat though - the sketch was never intended to cause offence."
I'm afraid that the problem lies in your sentence. We seem to have to apologize for everything we say today. Sad

People had a sense of humour back then. Jocks, Sassenachs, Pakies, Chinks, Wogs. There was no underlying message or insult, it was just the way things were. People didn't hate each other the way they do these days. The word "racist" has become so banal today that no one pays attention anymore. Imagine bringing Alf Garnet back to 2012..oups!!

@realGeorgelucas18563 I wasn't sure about that one so I left it out! Thanks!

@ZamfirChannel you missed mouse as mousse lol
This skit is making fun of the English language, not any particular race. It would have worked just as well with anyone from any other non-English speaking background. The sad thing is, those on the extreme left might interpret it as 'offensive' to minorities, whilst those on the extreme right will use it as an excuse to post their own race hate commentary here, as I can already see.

I find it interesting how almost all people of minority descent or origin who have commented- so far as I can see- have said that they found it funny, whereas people of white-British origin with a high sense of political correctness are the ones saying, "No, it's actually offensive". I am iclined to think that our "politically correct" era works on much the same terms: how may people of minority descent- bar the Jewish one- work in "politics" or lead the BBC to dictate these things anyway?
