Cash, the gorgous Missouri Foxtrotter that I have in training. This video was taken during his third week of training, which included A LOT of de-spook training and ground work. Cash is a SMART horse and enjoys his lessons.

I assume you were just doing the basics here, not setting in gait, ect.

Yes. Most of my training is done on trails and roads, AFTER the basics (walk, whoa, back, and turning) have been solidly established.
You wouldn't take a car down the road at any speed without brakes and a steering wheel would you?

Well, just wondering: why didn't she let you FOXTROT him? He's a foxtrotter. You don't have to canter him to show what he's got.I assume you know that.

He did gait right out when taken down the road and on trails. This corral is only for doing the basics for the first time in a semi-open area. This video was only done to show his owner that he is being ridden. Because of his high-strung goofy nature on the ground, she didn't think he'd be ready to ride until the second month of training.

Just walking,tho.

lol Yes, just walking in this video. He had already been down the road and moving right along in his gaits. His owner did NOT want him cantered, so I did as she requested.
This is one of the spookiest horse I have ever dealt with. He would panic about a leaf blowing across the ground. I suggested that his owner take him home until this spring to give him time to mature. He'll be back in May, I believe.
