Shame on Jim Morrell

Workers at the Holiday Inn Express Latham requested Local 471 Workers United's assistance with bringing a union to the hotel. Within a 24 hour period of the hotels management learning of the employee organizing efforts, the Holiday Inn Express fired half of the organizing committee. Retaliatory firings are unlawful under federal labor law, yet the law does not adequately protect workers' rights to organize free of employer intimidation. Thats why we need to pass Employee Free Choice Act to provide real penalties against employer who break the law.

The firings have left the three terminated employees with no income, and they're having trouble making their healthcare payments. Please consider making a donation to help these workers by sending checks to:

Wow Mr. Morrell has a little egg on his face and all his "sucks" start bashing 1 or 2 people in the group the fact is this, a group of people wanted to organize a union and they were fired for doing so.This is the harsh reality it happens everywhere all the time, hell it could happen to you. When FLY began to move towards a modern rock-leaning direction in 2005, Jamz dumped its urban roots and became a Rhythmic CHR station. Nowadays, B95's "soft rock" slogan is a misnomer too... why not dump that slogan? I kinda felt that the Edge would be gone anyway... but Morrell and Benfer need to look north for a certain "Froggy 107" to simulcast on 104.9, if you ask me. What about Jamz? Maybe put it on 100.9 and launch urban AC or put Magic back on 96.3? Needless to say, Morrell fails at radio

Jim Morrell is also the owner of Pamal Broadcasting, remember... they were the ones that got rid of Magic 100.9 (well, technically it moved to AM, but still...), 104.9 The Edge and 104.9 Love FM (in 2005). Though Cat Country 104.9 has a cult following these days, I just see it eventually fading out... like everything else tried on 104.9 (including their two modern rock formats, smooth jazz, urban AC...)

Did I wake up in NAZI USA? Last time I checked it's illegal to be fired for union organizing. Go find a labor lawyer and sue him. You won't get satisfaction quickly but at the very least (in time) you can make him feel the sting of the very court system that keeps him rich.
