This location WAS the Stanford Medical Bookstore. It was also the office of Stanford University Bookstore's attempt to operate a store leasing operation ala Follett or Barnes and Noble. That additional cash flow from running bookstores for small schools that did want to be bothered enabled Stanford Bookstores, Inc. to remodel the main campus store and operate a warehouse in Newark that could have everything on hand- books, sweatshirts, Macs, etc. Shame on those who closed it down.
