As we celebrate our nation's glorious history, let us also remember that you don't need to know any of it to serve in Congress, or run for President.

  • I know I may sound like an idiot, but did Bachmann actually say these things? I know these are not direct quotes, and the implications are a fabrication, but did she say anything close to what is in this video?

....because seriously I can see her saying such things. It really would not surprise me!

ZING! I kid wanna be Sarah Palin Idiots like Michelle. You will never beat Sarah on stupid.

    :)

    :P

  • @Joxman2k - Not the ones on the list. She did claim the Founders worked tirelessly to end slavery, citing John Quincy Adams as an anti-slavery Founder. He was 8 in 1776 and died before the Civil War. She's also said the battles of Lexington and Concord were in NH instead of Mass. In Waterloo, IA she felt the spirit of native son John Wayne. But the Duke was from Winterset (3 hrs away). Waterloo's John Wayne Gacy was an infamous serial killer/birthday clown. Waterloo is Bachmann's home town(!)

Hey thanks for the clarification :) The really disturbing thing about Bachmann's Rhetoric is that it is fluff to inspire people who don't have a firm grasp on history. She (or any politician) should endeavor to educate people with facts, not fluff :)

But to be honest she actually, inadvertently helped educate people by the fact checking by the opposition :)

    :P

  • @Joxman2k - I wish there were more who were motivated to find out. She basically confirms a lot of lazy people's prejudices. And there are 5 home-schooled kids who are heading out into the world with her crazy idea of history installed in their heads. At least her 23 foster kids are getting their info from actual history texts. Hopefully not Texas-approved texts.

HA Ha Ha! Texas approved history books is to knowledge, as throwing a Brick in the Grand Canyon expecting it to impart wisdom by its fullness.

  • @PatriciaCookFind1 - Sorry, no attacking each others' families. Criticize me, or any newsmaker, but leave the personal crap out of it or you're gone.

  • @PatriciaCookFind1 - It would not be fair to ridicule Bachmann like I would an adult.

  • @ shazbot - Just looked at Patricia's posts on your page. You weren't kidding. Bachmann must be so proud to have fans like this...
