It was an insane finish. Look at the acceleration when he really starts the sprinting. Teichman had a big advantage with coming from behind.
Normally the best thing is to sprint from front, since you have a shorter distance to sprint. But, in finishes like this it is an advantage coming from behind, since you can slipstream.
Too bad Alsgaard didn't have a that good sprint in 1999, when he lost against Christian Hoffmann. But, Hoffmann changed trail during the sprint there.

@kakeper321 In addition Hoffman has been caught using drugs, so most likely I'd say that he were on some drugs at that time to.

this was a tv repeat from the sprint, so the commentators knowing that alsgaard had won this game.

The american commentators is so bad. they go nuts when second and third place goes past first place, but when its a world class sprint between first and second place, they talking shit.

I disagree with you there. It has a lot to say, especially if you are running downhill. First of all you can ski in the tracks to the person you sprint against. Second, you will get a little less air resistance behind another skier, especially if there is some wind straight against you.
In past I was cross country skier, and I have used that to my own advantage before. So don't tell me it doesn't have anything to say. However, if the leg is straight, that's another story.

@kakeper321 This is skiing, not Need for Speed Underground. "Slipstreaming" has little to no effect during a ski sprint, and whatever influence "coming from behind" might have is purely psychological.
Mid-race however, it makes a huge psychological difference if you're behind or in front of someone.

How could he know Thomas would win before he even crossed the finish line?
Thanks!
You wouldn't happen to have the events before this, when Alsgaard and Teichmann passed Jørgen Brink?

Sorry...that's all I've got. From what I remember Brink just completely blew up and they flew by him.
