PLEASE READ THIS!
Handling power cables can be very dangerous. This video is NOT about teaching your dog to do this tasks, it's about YOU taking your responsibility and make a change. So shortly - don't try this at home with your dog, that's not the point! Please be careful.
I never allowed my dogs to really bite or drag the cables at any point during the recording of the video. I put the cables very lightly in the outlets so that they were easy to grab and pull out, and then my dogs let go of them directly. I made sure that the chance that my dogs would damage the cable and risk to get hurt was minimal.
INFO:
I made this short movie as a project in school a couple of months ago. I knew from the start that I wanted to do something with Mira and Rut and that the movie was going to have a deeper thought to it. This is how it turned out.
Mira and Rut did an excellent job learning all the new tricks included, like turning off lights and turning off the water, and we all had a lot of fun in the making of the video. I'm always surprised at how fast they pick things up, and amazed by their enthusiasm and commitment in everything that we do together.
Mira & Rut are trained exclusively through the use of positive reinforcement.
Last but not least, I want to give a big thank to:
My family - who helped me with some of the scenes through acting.
My friends - who has given me loads of kind compliments and passed the video forward on their facebook, blogs and youtube pages.
All the wonderful people out there who are trying to make a difference every day!
Border Terriers are the best dogs in the world, and you have such an incredible bond with both of yours.....Please do keep making videos with Mira and Rut!
