Six Flags New Orleans was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
It has been abandoned ever since.
This film was made in October 2010 by Teddy Smith.
The park is scheduled to be demolished in January 2011.

I actually just got back from going there. It is the most surreal thing to witness in person. I remember when I went as a kid and going there tonight was just so different. We climbed the wooden roller coaster and went inside all the buildings. It was so crazy but an awesome adventure!

the city was actually thinking of terring it down and making it into a nickelodeon theme park!! but it never happened....

@overbyjames I did tell you about those two bids for redevelopment that are under review by the city, but it probably wouldn't be a success as another theme park. Nobody in New Orleans East have no money to buy season passes and the people that can afford them won't drive through New Orleans East to go there since they're all probably paranoid by the spikes in the murder rate here. I still hope that the theme park bid is passed by the city
