UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Friday December 30, 2011, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Due to a pay per view revenue decline in recent months, the UFC will return to a 10 p.m. ET start with this event.

The winner of the main event is expected to face Junior dos Santos in a bout for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

UFC 141 will be the last event to feature preliminary fights live on Spike TV.

TJ Grant was originally scheduled to face Jacob Volkmann at this event but was forced to pull out due to an injury, and replaced by returning veteran Efrain Escudero.

Ramsey Nijem was scheduled to face Anthony Njokuani at the event but was forced to pull out due to an injury, and replaced by Danny Castillo.

  • Lesnar didn't take a dive he got his rib broken, keep making your videos and saying dumb stuff, if you ever actually get off the couch, went to a gym and trained, you would have some idea about what a broken rib or deflated liver feels like. Train Jiu-Jitsu & then you'll have some appreciation for how hard it is to when a Abu Dhabi tournament (like Alistair did), train boxing and muay thai for a year & then you'll have some idea of how special it is to be a K-1 world Championship (Alistair did)

  • @thachozn1429

I have a purple belt in BJJ and trained MT under Mauricio Veio and Andre Dida a Toronto BJJ.

    Next.

  • @BetMMA

Oh really, well in that case you understand the significance of winning an Abu Dhabi Grappling tournament, step off the Jiu-Jitsu mats and come step on a Muay-Thai mat, the next time I'm in Ontario I'd enjoy showing you the ropes in boxing or Muay-Thai at either Lanna Muay Thai or another gym in Concord. I have doubts about your training, or maybe you just never spar or compete, cuz anyone who has foughts knows what a shin kick to the liver, or knee to your floating rib feels like.

  • @thachozn1429

I do understand the feeling and reaction to what the knees or kicks would do. I merely said it "looked suspicious." Brock was the one dimensional underdog & Reem is the best striker at HW. I am not downplaying his abilities but I couldn't ignore the fact that after the fight, (Immediately, not after reading about broken ribs etc), I felt like something MIGHT have been off. AND considering it was WWE Brock, it seemed more likely from his side.

    So, I mentioned the possibility.

  • WAS Gustafsson imitating ANDERSON SILVA ?

You know when Anderson pretends to be Machida sometimes during the fight ? Well if you WATCH AGAIN Alexander Gustafsson vs Matyushenko you will see what I am talking about.

Or it is just ME tripping big time once again ?

If he painted himself black and wore a yellow and black trunk it would've been far more simple to spot the resemblance... ...still !

PS.: I just watched it. ( was on holiday ) That's why the LATE call !

  • i eat beans

  • @BetMMA you are right, it really looked like brock had PLANNED to lose.

  • @thachozn1429 bullshit, he took a dive, he didnt even TRY to use his weapon which is wrestling and he played overeems game, he wanted to lose and get out

  • 3cont. brock was always noted as some superior wrestler. LOL LOL! but he never really showed us that. so many people kept dreaming. he had trouble taking down randy couture and cain...both smaller fighters. his takedown was simply bend at a 90 degree angle and move forward. Royce Gracie had better takedowns.

brock never was what anyone thought he was. big, yes...a superior wrestler, no.

brock will be the elvis of mma. to his fans his legacy of 5Wins 2Loses will live forever.

  • 2cont. remember mark coleman in pride, then what happened after?

    remember mark kerr?

the challenge with a huge fighter without the years of training...is that he's a prisoner in his own body. can you ever think of a time when giants had the stamina and speed of a lightweight? You can count on your hands...

of course brock would win a few and i'm glad he put mir on his back and in his place...but that's all it would ever be.

to say 'if' brock takes him down...is delusional.

  • OH and for the record, people will think he's the real deal now more than ever because UFC fans only knows what goes on in the UFC and have NO clue about the amazing fighters in other organizations. I remember Brock was the favourite at one point. But then people got to see Overeem and know about his accomplishments and they changed their minds. Basically alot of UFC fans know jack shit and just go with the herd.

  • i don't understand the grandstanding here on the board...with i do this and i do that. we all know the reality we ALL don't know until we know & EVERYONE can get an ass kicking.

so, i don't think we should base our arguments on who thinks who is better.

brock lesnar never had a chance. that's a fact. look at no-holds-barred, boxing, k-1, mma...when has a musclebound wrestling freak ever held a belt beyond 10W?

NEVER. remember dan severen...dismantled by pedro rizzo?

    remember...

  • Great vid, but that was no dive. That kick was monstrous dude. I know he got paid alot and wanted his paycheck, but Alistair is deadly and that kick looked vicious. That in combination with his disease and Brock just got taken down.

  • Brock Lesnar is a little pansy deep down inside. He doesn't have a hardcore true fighter's mental toughness at all. If he decides to come out of his announced retirement, then he will probably be crushed again if he goes up against another top-level fighter.
