In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 29km/h into a rigid pole.

@Goodspittin i have a reanult twingo and my father bought his mercedes a class here in Brazil, and i tell you, 70% of the cars sold here don't have the safety our "old" cars have..(well my twingo is old =p from 2000)

but Vw in your country (im assuming its USA) have plenty of really really well made cars, i think you should consider buying, even if used, a golf. or Volv.. In your country they sell volvo? The volvo C30 is a neat and very different hatch, i think it's one of the best and safesty*
