Dream Of The Return - Sueño del Retorno - Quebrado En Vivo - 2009

Lyric:

Al mar eché un poema
Que llevó con él mis preguntas y mi voz
Como un lento barco se perdió en la espuma

Le pedí que no diera la vuelta
Sin haber visto el altamar
Y en sueños hablar conmigo de lo que vio

Aún si no volviera
Yo sabría si llegó

Viajar la vida entera
Por la calma azul o en tormentas zozobrar
Poco importa el modo si algún puerto espera

Aguardé tanto tiempo el mensaje
Que olvidé volver al mar
Y así yo perdí aquel poema

Grité a los cielos todo mi rencor
Lo hallé por fin, pero escrito en la arena
Como una oración

El mar golpeó en mis venas
Y libró mi corazón

  • I do not speak or understand Spanish. Can anyone please tell me what he is singing? This music is soooooo beautiful and I love listening to Pedro Aznar. The guitar player sounds like Gil Parris, a wonderful guitar player in Westchester County, NY where I come from. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. GOD BLESS YOU.

  • @Americanjazzlady I tried to send you the translation! but youtube does not allow no message to friend (add please)

  • Is this Spanish or Portuguese?

  • incredable!!!!!

  • @lapwiz GOD BLESS YOU SIR. Thank you. I understand what YOU are saying. A translation can mess up the song. And I love this song! MERRY CHRISTMAS. Jesus Christ loves you and me too!!!

  • One of my all time favorite Pedro's performance. I was fortunate enough to be there and hear this live. Whatta concert, what a joy to see someone that devoted his entire life to music, and to produce such gems. Pedro is in terms of Latin American music as essential as Jobim or Milton Nascimento, a true giant!

  • @Americanjazzlady It's hard to translate that. It's too intricate and any attempt in translating would sound incomprehensible and silly in English. Just appreciate the melody and outstanding musicianship displayed here and Pedro's lovely voice. I may try to translate it so you can grasp what he's singing about, but keep in mind the words in English will not match the lyrics, therefore, you cannot sing to it in English.

Pat Metheny recorded this instrumentally, cause, it cannot be translated.

  • @MrTinoNeto You have been added as my friend. Sorry I didn't do it sooner. I thought I had. Forgive me. GOD BLESS YOU. Another one of my very favorites is the genius...NANDO LAURIA. I love that man.

  • meravigliosa!!

  • Que música maravilhosa!!
