I was right in the middle of giving a speech for class and then BOOM! My mind just goes completely blank and I stopped mid-sentence. Everyone started whispering and laughing at me. I came out of it and saw everyone's faces. I started crying and left the room.

the sad thing is not a lot of people are trained to recognize a seizure

I remembered I had absence seizure just like this one. But I were in classroom and doing classwork and all suddenly I got confuse and I looked around and I don't remember where I am it last few min and my memory returned normally. Then three year ago I had absence seizure it was on hot day and I were argue with somebody and had absence seizure. In my life I only had three of them but mostly Clonic Tran seizure. I never knew about absence seizure until I saw this.

Cracks me up every time... but, seriously, going through school with undetectable absences is lame. Had my first tonic-clonic in 7th grade; dealt with that until absences became noticeable at 16, by which point I was already given a Resource Room period, with ACTUAL slow kids. About a year after high school, a doctor basically told us 'oops, you've probably been having tiny rapid-fire absences since kindergarten.' Oh, and it's all thanks to Agent Orange. I wanted to be an astronomer.

Too bad my classmates weren't adept at the art of detecting seizures. Epilepsy runs string on my mother's side of the family. In a way, my brother with his grand mal seizures was far luckier than I was. There was no and, if, buts or maybes that he was having seizures. Me on the other hand, why I just couldn't pay attention in class, I'd also interrupt the class with odd lip smacking and clucking noises.
Then again, this was during the early '80s.

I get these quite a lot, the problem is they always seem to happen in the wrong place, they can be a pain indeed.
And how the hell did HE know?

I had one of my seizures (absence) in class and it lasted for about 5 mins and my teacher was shouting at me (my best friend told me this) and she was telling me to get out of her class and my best friend kept telling her i was having a seizure but she said i was just doing this to avoid the question then once i came out it she told me to go to the headteacher but my teacher got shouted at instead o me! lol
