While heading towards the tube station after our first part of this month's main London protest against Scientology, we found this baby squirrel on the pavement - looking fairly weak and unwell. The best thing we could do was move it back in to the park/gardens at the rear of the Cathedral.

It was already being petted by tourists when we got there, it actively approached people and climbed up in to this person's hands.

  • I found this same juvenile squirrel the next morning in St Paul's gardens, not far from where these people left it. The poor animal was lying still on the ground, so we quickly took it to the Riverside animal centre (A Wildlife hospital). It unfortunately died there.

Its a shame that so many people in this video stressed it out by trying to pet it, and then after they had had their fun with it they left it on the ground to suffer.

  • "We haz a squirrel" lol

  • 'it actively approached people' - Wasn't actually approaching people, but YES the poor little thing did climb into the person's hands.
