I remember that day so well. I was on the outside of the front stretch but only about eight rows up from the track. Hornish was about 1/2 car length behind Marco when they screamed by.
What a scene in the stands . . . a moment frozen in time!! Could hardly see over the 7-8 rows in front of me. I imagine we'll probably never see a finsih like that again at Indy, at least for a while!
It made it more exciting of a finish because the Jumbo T.V. had the camera in a turning position on the far too right side of Marco. We didn't know who won until the P.A. said that Sam won! CRAZY RACE!
Just that short clip gives me chills. I was sitting at the very top of Turn 4. I could see them all the way to the beginning of the front stretch. I thought there was no way he would pass him.
Wow, GREAT seats. We're always 4 or so sections to the left of that, but we'd love to move more towards the main straight. These would be ideal.
