The Dreaded Cat Scan

i drank some of that stuff today(im 14) and i threw up twice. i had to drink like 2 times more than that... lucky

the stuff hes drinking is not very tasty im drinking 1 right now to get ready for my ct scan

pfft, lol i had to drink 2 bottles that size of that horrible barium for my upper GI, one bein thick like paste... took me like 5 mins to drink em both and i din't get anyhting else to drink for another 3 and a half hours:/

What you drank for your upper GI was different from what we give for a Cat Scan. The difference being. The thinkness of the barium Sulfate. CT oral contrast has about 2% of barium were as xray barium has about 60%.

nitter123 - Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I was the one behind the camera and no longer have contact with the patient, Lee. But if I remember correctly, you only have to drink the icky stuff if you're going in for his specific type of CT scan. If it's for a cancer check, then yes I imagine you would have to drink it. I've had CT scans done on my back and neck and never had to drink anything. Thanks for writing in! I DO know Lee is doing great! Cheers!

eww i too had to drink that awful stuff..xD
