  • I don't think mules do as well generally- not because they can't but because not every horse trainer is a good mule trainer and that slants things in the arabs favor.

  • I had a friend who had a little Eyptian arab and he was like a mountain goat on the trails. Mules are great too because they have "front wheel drive" and don't lunge up hills, but just dig in with the front feet and power right up. I pass horse riders on the steep hills, oh, and they won't spook over a cliffside.
