The Annapurna Circuit in Nepal is one of the classic long distance treks. I first trekked a portion of the Annapurnas in 1987 and loved the area so much I have been back almost every year for two decades. I wrote a travelogue, "Annapurna Circuit: Himalayan Journey" and a photographic book "Himalayan Journey: On Foot around the Annapurnas". I wanted to make this video to document an area that will rapidly change as roads leading up to the Annapurnas on both trailheads reach further and further into the mountains bringing with them all the changes that are entailed with road infrastructure.

  • When is the best time to do the trek? as I do not have long leave from work, will I be able to see the snow mountain in 3-4 days? I heard from Jomsom base is good? I recently came from first trip in Nepal and definitely amazed with what the country can offer..i didnt expect can do so much activities there!

  • Excellent, I really want to do the trek very soon.
