Dentro de las matrioskas hay un theremin, que es un instrumento musical electrónico que se controla mediante la posición de la mano, sin llegar a tocarlo. Lo que llevan puesto los instrumentistas no son estetoscopios, sino auriculares, para escuchar mejor el sonido de cada matryomin y así controlar la afinación.
