  • Obviously the decade of the boy bands. Where are the girls?

  • @vanjane The popular girl bands of the 60s (The Shirelles, The Crystals, The Supremes, The Ronettes, The Marvelettes, etc.) would techinally be considered pop or R&B groups, which is why I didn't include them in series on rock. However, if you check out my Best Soul, R&B songs of the 60s, you'll see I included songs from all of those girl groups.

  • "Gloria" is by Van Morisson not them..

  • @rocklobster112 Van Morrison wrote the song for his band, Them. The 1964 recording with Them is the original hit version. Van Morrison didn't record the song solo til the mid 70s, and that version was never nearly as popular as Them's version.
