@bac5220 Alongside that, and that's just Europe, in the Pacific, Japan is assaulting many major port cities in China, invading several lone islands. Assaulted British fortress colonies and protectorates. In response to Japan's invasion of China, the mercenary pilots who fought in China, the oil embargo, and the eventual attack on Pearl Harbor, led up to U.S. involvement, whether the nation liked it or not. Out of revenge for the death of 3,000+, we won the war for many beaten countries.

@bac5220 Its always different based on point of view, of course many Germans feel sickened to have let such a man gain power, and ultimately ruin it for them in just five years of bloodshed, and the worst kind of misery ever imagined that could be made by a dictator such as him. Yet, from a certain standpoint, the U.S. tipped the balance. Britain was on its last legs, though defiant, they would not stand long. Russia was fighting alone in the East, Montgomery was being wooped in Africa.

What I meant was they Germany was put in the role as the "badguys" and the US were the "ultimate heroes" with britian and russia and france as sidekicks. it's kind of lopsided, but I bet it's different in russian history books, or geman, polish, italian etc.

To all of you, the Soviets deserve alot more credit for what they've done(most casualties,Stalingrad,Seelow for example) but the US always gets credit in our history books because of DDay, which, if Saving Private Ryan didnt make so glorius looking, we wouldnt have that. And yes, the Brits did alot aswell. And with the "krauts." The germans were normal, not all werenazis. actually, a small percentage were "facists" and they just did what they were told. they all deserve credit,

@olaalskardig by credit, I mean by who participated most to END the war. The german military and gernerals at that time were incredibly genius, and should certainly earn some respect, but their leader's idealism and inhumanity only made the war worse, in my books, they don't deserve credit, but the individual soldiers and some of their gernerals certainly should earn respect.
