@pyronicflower I am a bit disappointed you didn't answer. It is easy to say I don't want to pay SS but the difficult question comes when you are asked what to do with the people I mentioned above. Let them die in the street, starve to death ?

How about this, We stop the war on drugs. Legalize them and then deal with the people if they choose commit crimes to buy drugs. I would be willing to bet it would cost a hell of a lot less and people would have freedom to choose.

1- Thousands of US cities without clean water ? That is an exaggeration.

2- I agree money is wasted by the government. It is absurd to think that money will not be wasted to some degree when dealing with so many people, projects, wars, programs, etc. Money will always be wasted in some ones opinion.

3- Lets say SS did went away. What happens to the people who have not been able to save for retirement because of illness, injury, layoff, IQ, or just fate. What then ? Morally ?

@Rogue351 1) thousands of U.S. cities are without clean, sanitary water; 2) the tea party does not want to completely abolish taxes, just reign in on SOME of the things the gov't is WASTING our tax money on; 3) If we didn't HAVE to pay into SS we could invest that money our whole lives and not HAVE to depend on gov't, and have a lot more at retirement than the $800-$1200/mo SS currently gives. When I retire it'll be $0-$200

072381Mack and the thing you are not understanding is that a large majority of the USA population would not take that money and put it away for a rainy day. The USA would end up with thousands more old people on the streets while the rich stepped over them. Is that a true moral "Christian" America? Is it moral to let insurance companies ruin people because it might save you a few bucks ? Is American really about just the rich surviving ? Go to India and see how that system is working out.

The thing you seem to forget is that our government is supposed to defend us from our enemies. But when they start "providing" things like social security, they're taking something from a provider (you, for instance) and giving it to a recpient and you have no choice in the matter. I'd rather have put all that money that was taken from me and put it where I want it. But now the government might not even have it to give it to me when I need it. And I'll never see all of it if I do get some!

A few interesting facts that conservative, anti government types always seem to forget. With out our goverment you more than likey would be speaking German or Japanese. We "USA" unlike many other contries have clean water, paved roads, law enforcment. And, I am sure that no one you love has ever cashed a social security check. All pretty big things to forget, not to mention hate a government for providing. Have they really taken more than they have given ? What freedoms have you "lost" ?

Fact is, we are already divided, have been for some time. We can not agree on anything. I was at that rally, it had nothing to do with hatred or bigotry of any kind. Yes, it was an anti government rally. There are MANY of us who do not want the government in our lives in ANY way, we have that right. We have the right to live our own lives our own way. The government needs to stay out of it. Liberty is a guarantee, not to be taken away. To much has been taken already. No more will be given.

Yes because two wrongs always make a right. And the United States defiantly needs to be divided even more than we already are at this time in history, right ?. Yep bitching and moaning is certainly the solution, because the other side did it. As smart as Savage claims to be why cant he see this. All anti gov talk shows are about nothing but money. Money at any cost. Even if the cost is the division of the United States, which I would like to add the terrorists would also agree with.

Well, the Democrates protested and screamed and hollared about the war for years, how did that help? How was that solving the problems? They even announced the war was unwinnable, how did that help anyone?? It didn't, it was just bitching and moaning.
