This is my newer Jensen 55 driving a water pump that I've had sitting on my shelf for the last year for lack of a few parts necessary to make it operational. It needed a bolt for the eccentric, which I took from the con rod, substituting a small brass bolt. It was missing 1 ball bearing valve from inside. I found a workable substitute from a ball race inside an older CD-ROM drive. It's a bit small, but it does the job.
Otherwise, the gland needed packing, for which I used some silicone tubing lubricated with some synthetic oil. And I teflon-taped all of the remaining piping and bolts on the pump itself.

Works pretty decently. It's a bit stiff, though. I may have to try the traditional graphited yarn for packing the gland if the silicone seal doesn't settle in nicer.

  • whare did you get that pump?

  • Bought it from a fellow on the steam forum I frequent. Where he got it from I do not know, nor know I any details of the builder.

  • the tube is cumming....

  • its like a train tires

  • @MisterOcclusion what's the forum?

  • try ebay they probably have stuff like this

  • you should hook that to your bolier and have a water tower!

  • You could probably build your own with a cylinder and flywheel, just hook incoming water up to steam input and outgoing water to steam exhaust

  • This is the nicest thing you've build :) I like your vids. Great !
