Elizabeth Taylor - True Love - by Richard Bassett

Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor had the love affair that defined and changed 20th century romance forever. Both married to others when they met, their two year affair affected the lives of ten adults and children, not to mention the international scandal it caused, before they married. For the next ten years they were hopelessly in love...each stating that they would die without the other. Well, maybe there was too much love and they suffocated each other with it. A divorce, remarriage and another divorce took place while each of their lives took each other to different parts of the globe. Never being able to be without each other, they were destined for a third reconciliation until Richard Burton suddenly died of a cerebral hemorrhage. Elizabeth collapsed. In his diaries, Richard revealed that he was prepared to give up everything, once more, if Elizabeth Taylor would return to him. She conquered an addiction problem and was ready to settle in with him once more, but he sadly died. Twice death took the men that she desperately loved. With Richard gone, she threw herself into AIDS fund raising which may have given her another purpose in life now that the man she loved was no longer with her. Their twenty two years together was a series of one collision after another and the aftermath reminding them just how strong the bonds were between them. Such a love. I remember Richard Burton, he had such a wonderful speaking voice, great actor, charming, w/personality, and intelligence, witty, handsome. I read he was a generous man also, no wonder Elizabeth fell for him. And Elizabeth had all those qualities also, including her great beauty.

Elizabeth and Richard were made for each other. The love and The fights went along with the beauty of making up and starting all over again. Thiers was an everlasting love until death do they parted and beyond. She never stopped loving him, HE never stopped loving her. another SAD love story.
